List six songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your six songs and so on and so forth ...

A Smart Kid - Porcupine Tree
Our Sick Story - Atreyu
What If We Could - Blue October
Put Em In Tha Grave - Jedi Mind Tricks
Father Figure - Army of Anyone

I know, I know... I'm a terrible livejournalist. I figured my return should be a good one so chew on this for a while...

So Saturday evening, the New Orleans Saints played their divisional playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. When I started watching the game, I did not realize the impact it would have on me throughout the course of the evening. After we watched the Saints win their biggest game in the history of the franchise, filled our bellies with beer, hamburgers and taco dip and celebrated quite a bit, my good friend Patrick started to try to recruit people to go to New Orleans to celebrate. At first I wasn’t to keen on the idea, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized why I had no reason why I SHOULDN’T go. So Patrick, Gus and I embarked on our party quest to NOLA.

So we left Baton Rouge around 1130ish and set forth on our journey. I scooped up a 20 pack of brews before we left so we could enjoy a FEW on the way down there and backpack the rest of the evening. The whole ride down we were just psyched up about what we were about to experience, doing quite a number of toasts while hollering “WHO DAT!?”.

We get to Patrick’s parent’s condo, which is about 5-6 blocks from the quarter. It was such an incredible place, not huge, but absolutely beautiful. We settled in at the condo while doing toasts (one for Casey, because we all wished he could have seen this) taking shots of patron and continuing on the beer.. With Gus and Patrick sporting a backpack each full of brew, we embark on our journey into the quarter. Almost as soon as we stepped out of the condo, a sea of black and gold surrounded us. People were wearing jerseys from their favorite saint (I was sporting bush, holla!) were literally EVERYWHERE. People were high-fiving strangers left and right, giving props to one another. It was definitely a sight to be seen. Such positive vibes have never, in my entire life, surrounded me and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. It was like everyone was just so happy to be a saint that night. Seeing everyone interact with so much love and respect was just amazing. Rich people, poor people, black people, white people, tan people (me, woot!)… everyone was just so happy to be there. Hell, we even gave two bums a few beers and I gave another guy $5. After taking a few more shots and drinking a few more beers, we settled in at Rosey’s diner for a nightcap of good eats. On the way back to the condo (which at this point is around 5AM) we passed the guys collecting garbage and throwing it on the truck. At this point I felt obligated to issue my last “WHO DAT!?” of the evening, in which he looked up and with lit up face, replied the same.

This whole experience got me thinking about everyone who thinks football (and team sports in general are stupid). I cannot think of any other event that could unite the city of New Orleans as this did. As many bad stories as you’ve been hearing on the news lately about NOLA, it was such a breath of fresh air to experience EVERYONE coming together in celebration. At some points in the evening I found myself choked up, but eventually came to, finished my beverage of choice and high-fived my ass off! Black and Gold Super bowl!!! Who Dat!?!?!!!!?!?!!

Hello Everyone. I recently upgraded my home theater system and I am selling the following:

1- pair of Polk RT55 Large Bookshelf speakers (i say large, because they are larger then your typical bookshelf)
1- matching Polk Center Channel (voice-matched perfectly to the mains)

I am selling the whole setup for $250, or best offer. They really do sound incredible and are in absolutely perfect condition. They are about 5.5 years old and have practically been babied. Here is a review i found on the RT55i, which is the same speaker/tweeter arrangement as the RT55, but with a different cabinet.

please email me at nastyrasti@gmail.com for more information, or if you want to come check them out. Thank you for your time.

Jason Ogle of Lagerhead has coordinated a tribute show for the late luke fauver (dear friend and guitarist for knever). If you knew him, come out... the proceeds are going to his family. If you didnt know him, you probably know someone who did, so come out anyway. He will be missed. This is all taking place at Xtreme daquaris in Gonzales.
